How your biltong gets from our table to your door: dispatch times, delivery rates and the way we pack every order so it lands fresh. Last updated October 2026.
1. Order processing & dispatch
Every order is packed to order, not pulled off a shelf. Once your payment is confirmed, we cure, slice and pack your biltong and hand it to the courier within 1–2 business days.
We dispatch Monday to Wednesday so your parcel never sits in a depot over a weekend. Orders placed from Wednesday afternoon onwards are packed and shipped the following Monday.
Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next business day. You'll receive an email with your tracking number as soon as your parcel is collected.
2. Delivery rates & timelines
| Delivery Zone | Delivery Fee | Free Delivery Over | Estimated Delivery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gauteng | R 75 | R 500 | 1–2 business days |
| KwaZulu-Natal | R 85 | R 500 | 2–3 business days |
| Western Cape | R 95 | R 500 | 2–4 business days |
| Rest of South Africa | R 110 | R 600 | 3–5 business days |
- Timelines are counted from the day your parcel is collected, not the day you ordered.
- Rates include VAT and are calculated automatically at checkout before you pay.
- We deliver to street addresses only — we're unable to deliver to PO Boxes, and farm or plot deliveries may need a nearby pick-up point.
- Outlying and remote areas can add 1–2 business days to the estimate.
3. How we pack your biltong
Biltong is a living product — it keeps curing and it reacts to moisture. Our packaging is built around that.
Sealed on packing day
Your biltong is vacuum-sealed, or paper-wrapped for cuts that keep curing, on the day it's packed — never days before.
Breathable, not sweaty
Paper wrapping lets the meat breathe, so it doesn't sweat in transit or soften into a clammy pack.
Rigid outer box
Parcels ship in a sturdy box with padding, so vacuum seals don't puncture and slices don't get crushed.
Hot-weather care
Summer orders to hot regions travel with an insulated liner to keep your biltong stable on the road.
4. Tracking & delivery problems
Track your parcel any time on the Track My Order page with your order number.
Failed delivery attempts: our couriers attempt delivery twice. If nobody is available, the parcel is held at the nearest depot for collection — we'll email you the details.
Wrong address given: email us within an hour of ordering and we'll correct it free of charge. Once dispatch has happened, a re-delivery fee may apply.
Late or lost parcels: if your order hasn't arrived within 2 business days of the estimate, let us know and we'll open a trace with the courier. If it can't be found, we'll replace it or refund you in full.
Damaged in transit: report it within 48 hours with photos and we'll sort you out — see our Returns Policy.
5. International orders
We currently deliver within South Africa only. We're working on cross-border shipping for our expat Boeties — join the newsletter and you'll be the first to know.
